Grisham township is located at the southwest corner of Montgomery county Illinois. While doing family history research, I realized it would be useful to have a census of the burials in the township, or at least a census of the gravestones that were still readable. It was an enjoyable summer's work and rather than let it languish on a disk, I thought that others might find it useful.
My apologies for the cryptic method I used in column 6, to indicate 'LOCATION'. The letters 'gr' and 'sc' mean Grisham and Shoal Creek townships. The number is the section number.
Although the cemetery in Shoal Creek township is in Bond county, I have included it as half of the village of Panama is in Grisham and half is in Shoal Creek. These are the cemeteries that match the cryptic numbers:
gr02 is Waveland Cemetery
gr12 is Edwards Chapel Cemetery
gr13 is Donnellson Cemetery
gr20 is Rankin Presbyterian (Mt. Pulaski)
sc27 is Union Cemetery in Panama
The names are in alphabetical order.
